(1) The process of using toxic, irritating and flammable substances should be placed in a separate workshop or arranged in a specially separated section of the workshop, and equipped with personal protective equipment and fire fighting equipment.

(2) The passageway for transporting logs, sawdust and waste materials in the workshop should be provided with facilities to eliminate hallways, halls, door curtains, curtains and other facilities to prevent fire spreading, such as automatic fire doors, fire and smoke prevention baffles, water curtains, etc.

(3) The overpass with protective railings and stairs should be installed when the workshop needs to arrive safely at the position above the equipment. Anti-skid ground shall be laid on the floor of the factory building and the passageway of the overpass.

(4) There should be no equipment or lines on the commonly used pedestrian passages. Their width should not be less than 1m.

(5) The conveyor belts below the ground shall be covered with a cover plate or a shallow lattice protective plate. The surface of metal plate should be skid-proof. The gap width of the grid protection shall not exceed 30 mm.

(6) Sawdust and waste storage tanks should be placed outside the workshop.

Noise reduction measures

When the noise level exceeds the national standard, noise reduction measures should be taken in building and layout.

(1) The ceiling of sound-absorbing material (slag wool sound-absorbing board) should be installed in a large workshop with a height of 6m. If the width of a tall and long workshop is less than the height, sound absorption panels should also be installed on the walls on both sides.

(2) When the height of the workshop exceeds 6m, a ceiling with sound absorption is installed above the woodworking machine tool.

(3) If the noise level of woodworking machine tools installed in the workshop is high and long-distance operation is allowed, the operator can work in the sound insulation room.

(4) According to the different noise intensity of woodworking machine tools, proper arrangement of various equipment can also achieve the purpose of reducing noise level. The equipment with the greatest noise, such as planer, circular saw and band saw, should be arranged separately from other equipment.
